Day 1 of this week's RADIO VISITS...

The first stop of the day was just a short jaunt east to Hartsville, Tennesse, where we had the pleasure of joining Gary Frank on the air at WTNK 93.5FM. Gary and his wife have been running this station for 6 years. Hartsville is a perfectly quaint little town, and we can't wait to go back and visit Gary often. Thanks, Gary!

Stop two: WLBQ 1570AM. Charlie Black has owned the station for over 20 years, and he and DJ Howard Phelps welcomed us into the station, and gave us a great interview. We played a song live, and then they spun our single. Thank you Morgantown, Kentucky for another great visit!

The last stop today was in Owensboro, Kentucky. Dave Spencer was a blast to hang out with at WBKR 92.5FM. Dave has been at the station for over 9 years, and has some great stories that he shared with us. We played a couple songs on the air, he interviewed us, and then he spun our single. Thanks, Dave!

Due West is getting to know RADIO

If these are the kind of people that we're going to get to meet and make relationships with on this journey, then life is good!

While in Las Vegas this past week, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit KWNR New Country 95.5. We met Cary Rolfe and his staff, who very warmly welcomed us into their station.

After a short acoustic performance in the conference room, we got to hang out a bit and get to know them all. We're figuring out that people who work at radio stations all seem to be very cool folks. They even had us sign a handful of our promo 8 x 10 posters to hang up in their offices. They really made us feel like we were already stars!

After the hang at the station, we took Cary and his family out to dinner at T-Bones Steakhouse. WOW, that was some amazing food! His wife and their two sons are the coolest people ever.

What better way to end the night, than with an impromptu acoustic performance of 'Tell Her' in the parking lot. Thanks for the great hang, Cary.

Kevin Mason is one of our Nine North guys who handles all of the "top-secret" aspects of Nine North records. Here is a video blog he did after stopping by and visiting us in the studio a while back.

Thanks Kevin.

DW in the Valley Of The Sun

We recently traveled through Arizona where we were so honored to visit one of Phoenix's great country stations KMLE Country 108! Gwen Foster and her staff put on a little unplugged acoustic concert for a few of their lucky listeners, and Due West was the entertainment. We had a BLAST! Thanks for grabbin' a hump and hangin' on! :)

Due West visits KSOP in Salt Lake City

Before we left Salt Lake to head south to Tuacahn, we stopped by to visit the good folks at KSOP. Deb Turpin greeted us in the lobby, and lead us right back into the studio, where we met the on-air personalities, Bill & Dick. They were so friendly to put us right on the air! We talked for a bit, played a song, and then they spun our single "I Get That All The Time". Thanks y'all!

Due West visits TWO Utah radio stations!

Today we visited our very good friends Keith and Lindsay at 101.5 The Eagle in Salt Lake City. They are always so good to us, and have been for quite some time now. We can't wait to make them proud and have a big ol' hit! Thanks guys for being the first station in Utah to spin our new single "I Get That All The Time". What a RUSH!

After we left The Eagle, we traveled down to Tim's home town of Richfield, where we visited Victor Adams at KCYQ 97.7. This guy is a real hoot! Thanks for spinnin' the single Victor! It's nice to get a little hometown LOVE.

While we were in Richfield, we ran into a local legendary DJ, Joe Gentry. This guy has been spinning records in that town since the 70's. He started as the station janitor, and still comes in and cleans the place. Every week he hosts his own show, where he plays nothing but old vinyl. Very cool cat!

Tennessee day-run radio tour a success!

The first Tennessee station to play the new single "I Get That All The Time" was WDKN in Dickson, Tennessee. Chuck Dauphin had such a great vibe at his station; the room was filled with old classic records and pictures of a lot of our heroes. He even had a dancing Hank Jr. doll! Check out our qik videos to see it.

It was an overwhelming feeling to actually be hearing OUR SONG playing over the airwaves of a West Tennessee town..... livin' the dream boys, livin' the DREAM!

Due West plays their first CRS show!

We played our first CRS showcase last night here in Nashville at a club called Rocketown. It went GREAT! ...who says those radio people are a 'hard audience'? ..nah! :)

After our set, we walked off the stage, only to be greeted by none other than the beautiful and legendary Pam Tillis! WOW. She looked right at all three of us and said, "you guys' harmonies are BITCHIN!" ...we don't know if it gets any cooler than that. What an honor!

Thank you Country Radio Seminar 2009! Let's do this!

Due West unveils their DEBUT SINGLE!

Well kids, the moment has finally arrived... Today we officially and proudly announce the song by which the world will meet Due West!

After MUCH careful and prayerful thought and consideration, the DW team has passionately concurred that the debut single will be "I Get That All The Time".

This is a song that means so much to all of us on so many levels, and really makes a statement about who we are as a group and also individually.

Whether we're a parent, a child, or an adult looking back on our lives growing up, there's just something to be said about walking in the front door of your HOME and feeling the weight of the day whisked away by the chaotic familiarity and peacefulness of family.

Due West to pick 1st single to send to RADIO!

Well, we're finally doing it...we're officially sending a song out to radio stations across the country this spring!

So today we're having a meeting with the whole team to decide which song is the smartest one to release first. We have tons of NEW music as well as the existing music that some of you have heard. The task of picking ONE song has been daunting.

It must be a song that represents us well, but also has the "hit song potential" for listeners who have never heard of DW ever before.

Wish us luck!

PS Please keep voting for our homemade "Sweet Gravity" video in the contest. :)

At this point, we're calling on our friends and fans to go HERE and vote your hearts out for the best VIDEO & music that you see in the top 12. :)

Due West back into the studio!

Today we go back up to The Ridge for our final tracking session before the new album comes out. We're going to be making some great music today; we've got a tasty little 3-piece rhythm section put together, and the songs we're cutting today are some of our favorites!

We're hoping to have the single picked by the end of this month, and are planning a big introduction performance at CRS this year! The Country Radio Seminar takes place in downtown Nashville on March 4th through the 6th, and all the big radio programmers will be there.

Stay tuned for more updates, blogs and qik videos from us. We sure love ya!

Due West recaps Sundance Film Festival

Hey y'all, we finally made it back from Park City, and wow what an amazing week we had! To be honest, as we headed out there, we weren't quite sure what to expect. I mean, what place could a few country bumpkins from Nashville have in a ski town full of New York and LA movie makers? But I must tell you, we were pleasantly surprised at the reception we received.

We ended up playing our first show of the week as an acoustic set in the check-in/lobby area of Chefdance. Chefdance happens each night of the week throughout Sundance, and is an opportunity for professional chefs from around the world to show off their abilities during a 6 course meal at $500/plate. It is usually attended by the rich and famous, and is absolutely the place to be, to see and to be seen.

Well, it just so happened that after we were finished playing, and the dinner was about to start, Due West was invited in to dine. We were so honored to be there. As we sat looking around the room at rock legends and movie stars, it felt like another life.

Later that night, the wife of the Founder and President of Chefdance came up and complimented our music, and invited us to attend her birthday party the following night. She wanted us to bring our guitars, and 'jam' with her other music guests, John Popper and Ben Harper. Once again we were blown away and honored.

The next night our birthday party performance ended up being broadcast on the regional 'Sundance Channel', which was really cool, but nothing topped hanging with John Popper that night. Blues Traveler tunes were definitely infused in the soundtrack of our youth, and to be chillin' there with the harmonica man himself, wow.

Our full-band show of the week happened the next night, and what a blast that was! We packed out the basement of Harry O's in a venue called the Monkey Bar. Once again it was cool to be looking out into a crowd of people who had never seen us before, and watch their faces turn from looks of uncertainty, to smiles and head bobs.

Our 1st annual Sundance Film Festival VIP fan club party on Thursday night was definitely one of the highlights of the week. It was held in the beautiful Deere Valley mountains right outside of Park City at the Latta Estate. The intimate acoustic show was attended by a small select group of about 80 of our fans, and dinner was provided. We announced to the people in attendance that night how special they are to us and how much we appreciate that they've been there for us since the beginning. We let them know that this year, 2009, we are going to make them proud!

Friday morning we did a live radio show down in Salt Lake City on 101.5 The Eagle with Keith Stubbs and Lindsay. We debuted "Listening To The Sunset" live on the air and the phones lit up! We ended up staying on the air for over an hour and then were treated to breakfast provided by the famous Bella's Mexican Restaurant. These amazing folks brought a big spread of delicious food into the radio station for everyone to enjoy. Can you believe that?! Amazing.

Of course a trip to Park City in the winter time wouldn't be complete without at least some sort of snow activities. So throughout the week, in between sound checks, hot tubs, movie premiers and shuffle board, we hit the slopes at the Canyons Resort and were even treated to a 4-hour private snowmobile tour. Be sure to watch our 'qik' videos to see Tim and Matt conquer the giant hill on a saucer sled!

We must send a HUGE shout-out to the Osguthorpe family there in Park City, who treated us like rock star-celebrities. This week would have been nothing without their hospitality and generous ability to just take care of people. We can't thank them enough. If you're ever visiting the Park City area, be sure to look up the Osguthorpe family and Red Pine Adventures. You're sure to be treated like royalty.

Thank you Sundance Film Festival, we will see you next year!

Due West @ Sundance Film Festival 2009

Hey everybody, we're so excited to finally announce that we WILL be taking part in this year's Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The 25th annual independent film event will run from January 15th through January 25th this year.

The Sundance Film Festival is the premier showcase for U.S. and international independent film, held each January in and around Park City, Utah. Presenting 120 dramatic and documentary feature-length films in seven distinct categories, and 80 short films each year, the Sundance Film Festival has introduced American audiences to some of the most ground-breaking films of the past two decades!

The Festival has changed over the years from a low-profile venue for small-budget, independent creators from outside the Hollywood system, to a media extravaganza for Hollywood celebrity actors, musicians, directors, paparazzi, and luxury-goods company sponsors giving gifts to the attendees.

Due West will be right in the middle of the action, playing several acoustic and full band shows throughout the week at different venues, including the famous Harry O's, located right in the heart of downtown Park City. We're mainly hoping to rub elbows with some of the entertainment industry icons, and get some good exposure! :)

For more information about this event, visit the Sundance Film Festival website. See ya there!

Safford Arizona KICKED BURRITOS!!

Last night we did a show in Safford, Arizona, and it ROCKED! We had such a great time partying with the people of the Gila Valley, and layin' it down with our boy Tad J, and Miss Cardin McKinney.

The day started with a quick stop by Los Jilvertos for an AMAZING breakfast burrito, and then an on-air visit with Reed Richins at KXKQ Kat Country 94. Reed, you're the man, bro!

For lunch it was another breath-taking, jaw-dropping Mexican meal, provided by Casa Manana. The tortillas there......REALLY!? WOW.

The show kicked off sharply at 7pm...with or without Doug. :) ...we jammed for a couple hours, signed some CDs, snapped some pictures, hung a little with local world-champion team roper, Matt Sherwood, and then called it a night.

The coolest part of the whole trip was finding out that over $3,000 had been raised for the American Cancer Society. We were honored to be a part of such a great cause. We can't wait to come back and do it again sometime. WE LOVE YOU SAFFORD! DW

Due West to play Safford, Arizona for American Cancer Society

Hey y'all, we're excited to announce our upcoming performance at the Safford Center for the Arts, on Wednesday night, December 17th, at 7pm in Safford, Arizona.

Safford lies in the heart of the Gila Valley, which is where our boy Brad learned how to be the chick-magnet that he is today. That's right ladies, Brad hales from the neighboring town of Thatcher, and if you do your research, you just might be lucky enough to take a gander at the house Brad grew up in! Oh the stories the walls of that little home could tell...

The evening will feature a guest-drummer (Gila Valley's own Tad Jacobson), and a special appearance by the talented and lovely, Miss Cardin McKinney.

All proceeds from the show are being donated to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. So if you're in the area, make sure you come on out. For tickets and an article, click this link. DW

The Dixie Rotary Bowl...

...after a full night of blackjack on Fremont Street, we loaded the Due West-mobile, and headed north to St. George; home of the Dixie Rotary Bowl. The Western Washington Vikings took on the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers, and Due West was there to provide the half-time entertainment. We rocked out with 'Bible & The Belt', 'Tell Her', and '22 Hours', and the people seemed to love it! Big shout-out to Rustin and the gang at Poll Sound for the great stage set-up. It was a good time. After the game, we were invited over to the local Ruby River steak house, where we were treated by Steve and his staff to the biggest and best meal of the month! They stuffed us! Those guys are AWESOME! They've even got Due West music in rotation playing throughout the restaurant, how cool is that? We were so grateful for their hospitality and generosity, that we decided to give them our steel player Tommy's resonator guitar. ( how nice of us....nah, it was nuthin' :) ) We all signed it, and they hung it on their wall. So if you're in the St. George area, make sure you head over to Ruby River to check it out! :) After our stuffing, we poured ourselves back in the Due West-mobile, and rolled back down to Vegas, where we slept the ENTIRE night away...that felt great. Thank you Rotary Bowl for having us back for the second year in a row; we'd love to come do it again next year! DW

Thank you Las Vegas!

...so we rolled into Las Vegas Friday night, and headed straight down to Fremont Street. The city was even more electric than it usually is...and there sure were alot of cowboy hats! :) As we got checked into our hotel and found our way down to the club, we were all a little giddy to see so many posters hanging around Fremont with our picture and name on them. We felt like rock stars! :)

It was cool to see all of our friends from Idaho who drove down to hang with us. We love you guys! Thanks also to our family and friends who showed up too. The show was a blast, and the folks at The Canyon Club took great care of us. We hope to visit them again sometime. Afterwards we ended up playing a little blackjack with our Idaho peeps....well, a lot of blackjack. We ended up playing all night! ...nobody won big, but nobody lost big. Even though we didn't get to catch a rodeo performance, it was still a blast being in Vegas around it all. We hope to be back next year! DW

Due West in Gilbert AZ

The benefit concert yesterday was a success! We did two shows at the Gilbert High School auditorium with Light to help raise money for the recovery of our new friend Marius. For those of you who only went to the 2pm performance, I must say that you missed out. The 7pm show had a spontaneous surprise finale as Light and Due West were joined on stage by Marius and his brother. Everyone joined in and serenaded with the popular Diamond Rio hit, 'One More Day'. It was a moving moment. Stay tuned for lots of fan pictures from the event to be posted. We love our Arizona fans!
Marius, good luck on your recovery, bud! We'll be back to check on ya'! DW

Due West plays with iWeb

Today Matt decided to experiment with iWeb a little bit. After several hours of learning how it all works, and figuring out how to upload pages to the internet, Due West finally has a fairly functional website to get us by until the massive unveiling of the 'official' Due West website (scheduled for sometime around the first of the year); which I'm sure will look much more..... professional. Until then, please stop by and visit the new Due West website, and make sure you click on ALL the buttons. Test them out, make sure they all work. You'd be surprised at how much of a pain it is to get all that stuff to function right...    ...oh yeah, and there's a couple sneak previews of our recent photo shoot. Shhhh, don't tell anyone! :)       DW

Busy, Quick Trip to SLC

It started with an early-morning visit to 101.5 The Eagle, with a live performance on the Keith Stubbs show. Keith has been a friend of Due West's for several years now, and has us on the show every time we're in town. He and Lindsay ROCK! ...big thanks to Joe and the gang at Bella's for bringing breakfast in to the station; as always...WOW.

After leaving Trolly Square, we went by and did a quick surprise performance at our friend Samantha's elementary school cafeteria. I hope we didn't embarrass her too bad! Check out the pictures on our Facebook page.

Then finally, last night we played a show for the farmers of Utah at their annual Farm Bureau Convention in Layton, Utah. Before the evening's performance, we were fed the most delicious filet mignon any of us had ever eaten; Tim didn't even have to use his knife, it was so tender! When we finished our show, we received a standing ovation, and played an encore. Those are truly some great people, and we're proud to consider them our new friends. A special thanks goes out to the Osguthorpe family, who continue to believe in and support this Due West 'train'! DW

Marius Dasianu, Light, and Due West

We are always so extremely honored to be able to take part in so many amazing benefit concerts and fund-raising opportunities. On Saturday, November 29th, we will be performing two(2) shows to help raise money for a young Romanian boy who was severely burned in a fire, and lost both his parents. The event has been entirely planned and organized by a Mesa-area song and dance group called Light. These selfless, talented teens are amazing! See more about this show and this story here. Once again, we are humbled and honored to be a part of such an amazing moment! DW

Meetings, movies, and mics...

Hey y'all! We've got a few days off back here in Nashville, but we're staying busy 'til we leave again this weekend. First priority....James Bond! ...Montpelier didn't quite have the means necessary for us to see Quantum on opening night, so we HAD to go check that out. (loved it!) :) Also, we're SO pumped to continue moving forward in the studio; Tim's been in the vocal booth getting his pipes all dialed in. This new record is gonna ROCK! We've got some more meetings this week too; putting the team together and a plan in place to knock it down in 2009. ...good things. DW

Me and Due West Down Under

A good time was had by all in Australia! We came, we saw, and they loved our music! We found out that Matt drives better on the other side of the road, Brad still sleeps through anything, and Tim can't drive on either side of the road! We really love the people of Australia, and if it works out, we will return in January with our full and, and rock it out for them Due West style at their Country Music Festival in Tamworth Australia!

Kangaroos are really cool to look at, but they don't taste anything like chicken!

(can you see the Kangaroos?)
